He isn't much for expressions, but ummmm, I think that those kind of reactions are reserved for mere mortals like myself.

Meaning I think he is plenty big enough thank you...

More updates on Lutz as well as The Rock..

http://www.eonline.com/news/469765/k...iler-watch-now

quote from Screen Rant: ?Well, even Renny [Harlin] himself, he?s like, ?Kellan, I don?t want you getting bigger. Just get your abs to pop more.? I?m like, ?All right, cool.? And I like being bigger. Even I saw Hercules as this giant guy, but the powers that he harnesses, it?s not like he?s throwing bears into the sky or really fighting off any of the monsters like Clash of the Titans or anything like that. It?s really just Gladiator pretty much.?

?I wish them the best. They have a great cast, but the story is completely different. [Johnson's Hercules] is much older and our Hercules is the man?s journey from him being a boy to a man, and it?s very real and human. Our character goes through being lovestruck and then heartbroken and then anguish and loneliness, sadness and remorse. It?s really a story about a man, a man and the journey to get back to his love. So it?s not a man with super-powers. A man not understanding the strengths that he does have and he?s in denial because he doesn?t believe in gods at first and doesn?t believe that he?s the son of Zeus and just really feels rejected by who he thinks is his father. It?s just really going through the story of what a normal boy would go through and the situation that he?s forced into.?

he's cute but he ain't hercules.

And what is wrong with the original classical Greek myth? If you are not going to tell the story of hercules, why call the film hercules?

Even 300 was more historically accurate.

What?! Two Hercules movies so close in production and release? Is there no longer an original thought to be had in Hollywood? Or are they more about the profit than the actual art?

There's nothing new under the sun. Hollywood is screaming for interesting new stories but all they come up with are remakes because every story has been told again and again. Even the special effects are getting "ho-hum, seen that before...". As if putting action scenes in slow motion is a real advancement.

However, many (but not all) real Hollywood movies far outshine almost any SyFy TV movie, low budget, disaster.

This just looks extremely disappointing. The trailer is boring, the CG looks terrible, and like most of have you had said, I wished they would have stuck with the original greek mythology. It's just sad because he would make an incredible Hercules with the right story.

Yeah, Herc's power was supposed to come from his demi-god status, not his freaky build. But that hasn't stopped painters and sculptors through the ages from depicting him as a pretty bulky guy.
Lutz looks good, but not 'Herculean'.

Too bad most modern movies don't keep to the mythology- there's not supposed to be much "mythic" quality in the Dwayne Johnson version either.

"Whoa, dude! Your Hercules movie could be cool! Check it out! People have been telling, reading, making art from, and enjoying these awesome stories for two thousand years!"

"Yep. Gotta fix that."

Sigh.

I agree he could be bigger, but he's very much within the reaches for Hercules. Remember Kevin Sorbo managed it and he was smaller at his biggest than Lutz is.

The story isn't necessarily uniquely Hercules. Honestly, they could have done Theseus just as well, or one of Zeus's many other bastard offspring.
