Legend of Hercules

Hopefully I posted this in the right area, if not I'll be happy to move it.

I was just wondering if anyone has seen The Legend of Hercules, the new movie staring Kellan Lutz. From everything that I can find online it has recieved nearly universally bad reviews.

If anyone has seen the flick, I have a couple of questions. First, is the movie significantly bad enough that it makes the leap from derivatively boring action flick into the territory of a mildly entertaining chucklefest? Next, and more important, is the movie worth watching for those of us who have a particular eye for well built men wearing next to nothing?

Thanks for any insight you may be able to provide.

Kamaswami

This review certainly makes it sound promising:

Awful movie, but full of eye candy. Kellan Lutz' best performance will always be his cameo on 30 Rock.

I would say that movie possibly falls in the range of good-bad. It's horrible, but watchable more so than extremely bland and emotionless movies. IE: Twilight Saga

ALSO!

Yes. 30 Rock. Just yes.

When it comes to Hollywood, money talks

Therefore if people become aware that a certain type of film rakes in the money, then they will flog it like a dead horse (as demonstrated by the SAW franchise, the SCARY MOVIE franchise and the FINAL DESTINATION franchise)

According to Wikipedia, (where box office information exists) Hercules films (i.e films with Hercules in the title) generated between $2 and $9 million dollars (Steve Reeves notched up $4.5 million in Hercules Unchanined and Lou Ferringo notched up $9 million in rentals) so therefore if this film gets more than $10 across the cinemas the scriptwriters will be asked to write a sequel.

Personally, speaking, of all the Hercules movies I have seen, the ones from the 1950's and 1960's suffer from all the redubbing and so therefore I would be willing to give this a chance but hope that they would stick with the basics (i.e child born through godly intervention, has strength a great deal more than the average, is forced to perform 12 labours after killing his family in a fit of madness, remarries, is killed by a cloak dipped in poison, is elevated to the stars)

Who cares if the movie is bad?

Are we watching it for it's oscar qualities ?

I think not.

Hot muscle methinks is the point here.

Yeah, saw it yesterday. Almost forgot it today. Had to struggle to remember enough to write this review. Plot was unimportant and nearly non-existant. Eye candy was pretty good but how many times can you slo-mo a fight scene before the audience starts thinking "OK, get it over with already".

Hot bodies, and a leather fetishist will ogle the costumes but all in all a dumb movie not worth the price of 3D.

Thanks to everyone for his insight! Also, I have no idea how I missed that episode of 30 Rock-I'm kinda disgusted with myself.

This movie was bad, and from the 20 or so audience members in the theatre trying to stifle a giggle they probably agreed.

I'm not a fan of excess blood by any stretch, but when you stab someone there needs to be a bit more than a papercut's worth of blood on the wound or the pavers.

The story itself is basically Argos 90210 with respect to depth or any acknowledgement to mythology. We saw it in 3D, and I can only imagine what the 2D viewers must have thought about the number of wind chimes and gauzy bedding panels in the foreground.

The stop-action/slo-mo scenes were entirely predictable.
