lurker no more? Ok, here goes nothing.... I've always dabbled with weight-training, and played a few sports through high-school, then got lazy around 16, then got busy around 20, so I just let everything slide. Started to get back into the gym last year, and finally sick of being small, so I'm going to start this thread about how I either do or don't succeed in putting on some serious size what a surprise. current stats - measured at the gym height - short (172cm) weight - 69.3kg (morning) bodyfat - 13.5% (morning) chest - 40.75 inches arms - 13.5 in (resting) 14.75 in (flexed) waist - 29 in hips - 30.75 in mid-thigh - 21.5 in calves - 15.5 in http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j.../biceptank.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...ics/abspic.jpg WISH ME LUCK!!! Wow, Steve. You have a great base to work from. If you set your mind to it, you'll blow up in no time. You're already solid muscle, so you're just going to have to add to what you have. Good luck! |

Wow, replies already. whoo hoo. Achilles - you're an inspiration I've been following your Youtube channel and it's amazing. Who'd have thought Taupo could inspire such miracles. I do have one question for you guys though... I've had people tell me they are sitting at 4-5% bodyfat... ?!?!?!? I'm at 13.5% on average so the notion of being able to get to 4-5% is completely incredible to me. How do you do it? Steve |

*bows* My suspicion about the whole 3-5% Bodyfat thing? A lot of people that claim it are lying / haven't actually measured themselves the proper way and are just guessing, wildly understating their percentage. mid-April update ok, so some discouraging news. I've managed to put on a little eensie weensie bit of lean mass, and fat at the same time Still, it's heading in the right direction, I think . I've always had difficulty putting on weight of any kind, so I must be doing something right - kind of. It's bad news because I gained some weight but it looks like I gained a chunk of it in fat as well as muscle. anyway, thanks for the encouragement. I'm stuck between trying to let myself lose more abs in exchange for some mass which I will hopefully be able to retain when I cut, or to change now and work cardio to get them back first - I miss my little abbies. but maybe that's ok. weather's getting colder anyway so I'll probably always have a shirt on now - hopefully no-one notices. But the gains are slow coming and I'm eating heaps. Will do a bodyfat measurement on Wednesday and report back. I want to get my body into shape by summer (November) so I've got a bit of time to prepare. hm... thinking aloud here. Mr Beekeeper I read your page - used to read it all the time, but the updates have gotten sparser so I check it out every week now. Steve |
