Disney's "Strongest Man in the World" There have been other threads asking about your first memories of seeing muscles/strength. I always said that for me it was TV Wrestling in the 70s (Ivan Putski!) and the muscle ads in the back of my comic books. But last week Disney's movie "The Strongest Man in the World" was on TV. I forgot all about it. Some college geeks develop a formula that gives temporary super-strength to whoever drinks it. They challenge a rival college to a weight-lifting competition, drink the wrong formula and get crushed. A young Kurt Russel finds the right formula and has to do a single overhead lift of 1,111 pounds to win the match. Overall it's not a very good movie. There aren't many good strength scenes in it. But imagine being 8 or 9 years old and seeing those musclemen on the big screen, then watching Kurt lift 1,000 pounds overhead. Left quite an impression on me! |

Very nice! That moustached hunk is mega hot, back when there was no internet it was very hard to come across images of hot men so I can imagine this movie must have been a sensation __________________ Fuertesyrobustos.com - Crecimiento muscular en espa?ol |

Most of the guys in those pix had mustaches. I'm pretty sure the guy in the first pic is Roger Callard, who I always considered mega-hot! The movie came out in 1975; Russell, by that time, was 24. xoxo Richard |

Totally agreed. I?m surprised more isn?t said about this film on this forum actually. There?s just something so friggin? sexy about all those moustached musclemen at the end (Roger Callard? OMG!!!) and it?s all so very very 70?s. Kurt never looked hotter than he does in this film. Damn he was a cutie back in the day! My fave bit is when he first shows off his strength to that stupid dean guy in his office. There?s this real fat kid sitting in a chair and Kurt runs over, grabs the chair by one leg (with the fat kid still sat in it of course) and casually lifts them high into the air with one hand! Then he lifts his buddy with his other hand! I remember watching that for the first time and thinking how much I?d have loved to either have that kind of strength OR to have been the fat kid and to be lifted so effortlessly into the air by such a sexy handsome young hunk as Mr. Russell. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! |

see this video with roger callard and Bob Reis I didn't thought there could be somebody hotter than Callard but I think Reis surpasses him tremendously in hotness __________________ Fuertesyrobustos.com - Crecimiento muscular en espa?ol |

Thanks for the ID on Bob Reis, Mutador! I don't think I ever knew his name! Also: Your website... http://www.fuertesyrobustos.com/ ...is totally awesome, Mutador! Thanks so much for putting together such a well-organized, comprehensive collection of hotness! xoxo Richard |

Here are some more scenes from the movie, including the scene tanky mentioned with Kurt lifting the fat kid. |

I agree seeing all this muscle on stage as a young kid was incredible...this movie had lots of potential looking back..muscle growth when taking the formula...an armwrestling scene with a big muscled school bully where Kurt starts to lose then drinks his formula half way thru match and wins...etc. |

You little gem! That's the one! Great to see this again, thanks! Also love the bit where Kurt casually bends the lamppost without even meaning to! Had totally forgotten about that one! Thanks again. |

Someone can rip the movie please because here i can see it.... |

Did this have anything to do with him playing the superhero in that more recent Disney movie? |

Back to the topic, I think Kurt Russell is amazing in the role of super strong man, in "school of super heroes" he plays a super strong hero father of the protagonist who also becomes super strong. That movie is hot, not as much as the older one but has some scenes of super strength that are well done. __________________ Fuertesyrobustos.com - Crecimiento muscular en espa?ol |

Mutador: Your site does an excellent job! It makes me want to brush up on my nearly non-existent Spanish! :-) One guy I was surprised not to see there: No Paco Bautista?! xoxo Richard |
