Gettting BIG in the New Year!

Hello everyone,

I recently returned to the site after a hiatus due to back injury (hit by drunk driver) and subsequent recovery. Anyway, I had left because I was frustrated that I was unable to lift, and this site and other factors in my life were seriously depressing me (clinically). It was tough to read and fantasize about lifting, something that you love, when you are forbidden from it by every health professional that you see. As soon as I was cleared to do so, I hit the gym with a vengeance.

Over the course of last year, I went from 152 to 176 lbs, I had my injury, I lost some weight in summer when I was sidelined, but I am now up to 193 lbs . I am 6'1.5" and hovering around 10% body fat.

This is my size last year. I was the classic hard gainer. That plate is entirely full of dessert, and I ate it all. My friends called me 'Cancer Patient.'--not very funny.

Stats: I remember measuring my right bicep at 12" at one point... I think that I hid the cloth tape measure after that. I didn't really take 'before measurements.' I used to run marathons. Marathoners don't generally have big arms (legs weren't bad, though).

I hope to make equal gains next year, but we shall see. Making such rapid gains takes discipline that is difficult to achieve when you have to work and go to school. At least I am in the gym, growing. Screw Disneyland, the gym is the happiest place on Earth. Thanks for all of your support. Everyone on this site is great.

Progress

Well, I got to 210 lbs, then I was feeling like I was carrying around a little too much fat, so I cut down to 190 lbs. I am currently 197 lbs and gaining muscle again. I haven't lost any strength. My current max bench is 335lbs, bicep curl 185 lbs, etc.

Wow, thanks for all the positive comments. I'll post some more pics soon. I have gained a good deal of muscle... and fat. My current one rep max for bench press is 360, and I can curl about 195. I am eating about 4300 (clean) calories per day. I plan on gaining as much muscle as possible by Dec 31, then doing a really slow cut down to about 6-7 percent body fat before reassessing how big I want to get. I am currently 203 lbs and 11% bf. Hopefully, I will be able to get to about 215-220 before I start to cut.

a few suggestions for you to try

digestive enzymes 2 with each meal

probiotic follow bottle but at least 1 3times a day

have 1 cup of oatmeal 1/2 hr before bed with raisins and 1 scoop of protein powder.

make sure you eat something every 2 hours should be a protein and a carb such as oats, brown rice, sweet pot.


do not eat any white breads,white rice, sugar, high fruitose corn syrup in any form, no cakes etc no junk food. if your going to have junk food then do it 1-2x a week and it should be pizza or a pasta.
i suggest the first 2 because you may have a asorbation issue and not getting the nutrition from your food that you need.
