I'm not sure if this is the best place for this. Please forgive me if it isn't.
When I use search the results only bring up the 500 most recent items.

Is search supposed to do that? Cause I know the boards go back much further then that. I'd like to be able to search for older stories and such but its not happening when the cut of for results is only 500.

How come topics like this tend to get ignored?

I even sent a message to the administrators through the contactus button on the bottom of the page. I also left the same question on other boards here and yet thier ingored.

I just want to know why the number of result in a search is limited to 500. Yet no one seems to know the answer. I want to know since I want to read the older stories, and I look for ones that I'm usually interested in through search.

A couple of things:

(1) I don't know why the search results are limited to 500 but I'm assuming Flexodus is using free software (it's a free site!) and usually you get what you pay for.

(2) You can *browse* the stories all the way back to the beginning. That's not terribly efficient but if you're just interested in seeing what's been posted, period, that's one way to do it.

(3) Better yet, download the archive, which is current through 2-3 years ago, and which is sortable by author, title, and date added.
