P90x

So I was wondering what you all think of it. I just got a copy of it and I am anxious to know if you guys like it, hate it, etc. The reason I got it was to slim down because i was starting to gain weight. Would it also be a good idea to go to the gym and lift weights too?

I've heard a lot of good things about P90X. I have not tried it myself, but I intend to when I can.

You'll overtrain if you try to do that and lift. You're not going to be able to grow much while doing it. One or the other.

Grobig is right. To put it more generally, routines like P90X are calibrated to be highly effective at the rate they have you working out. Adding extra will reduce the effectiveness - if it were more effective to work out more, they'd have added that to the routine.

I use P90x and I have to say that it works really well. It is all I really need right now because I am trying to tone up and at the same time gain lean muscle. You have to eat a healthy diet and take supplements along with your workouts or you won't have any results. It is probably the best program I have used for my requirements.

Alright, no gym for me. Oh, gonna be so sore for a couple weeks What kind of supplements do you use? I just wanted to shape up without any supplements or anything.

You really don't *need* supplements. If you've got a good, healthy, balanced diet, you should have more than enough of everything coming in.

A good recovery supplement with lots of BCAAs, glutamine, and vitamin C will help recovery. I like Dymatize's Elite Recoup, but any similar product will be good.

I have the program and started it, but fell off. Lately I've been running and working out on my own. When I feel like my strength and endurance is back to a good point, I'll probably switch back over to p90x. From what I've experienced, I can tell it's effective. Hopefully I'll be back to doing that soon

What if I don't want to do the diet, but my regular meals are healthy? Will I still skin down even if I don't follow a strict diet?

i know of people who don't follow the diet and still have good results. you won't see results like the insane ones they show on tv, but there will still be a noticeable difference

i wanted to do p90x but a friend burnt some copies for me. some of the routines where insanley long n i lost interest. then i tried the supreme 90 workout from walmart. it works just as effectivley as p90x but the dvds arent as long. a friend compared them n doing them both he found you get the same results.
