In search of an old cartoon

Hi guys, I was wondering. When I was about 15, I remember seeing a cartoon which started my love for muscle and growth in general. I can't remember the name. It followed a witch who had a powerful crystal or stone which gave the wearer extraordinary power. A team of different beings took it and there power kept growing. I remember a character that had thorns, almost tree like. It annoys me as I can't remember what it's called. I think it was probably made during the 80's. hope someone could help.

3. Do you remember what time of day/day of the week the show was on? (Was this an after-school cartoon, a Saturday morning cartoon, or what?)

4. Was this a series, or a standalone thing? If it was a series, then was the thing with the witch a single episode, or was this the plot of the whole thing?

5. If this was a series, what were the names of any of the characters? Were they supposed to be human or anthropomorphic animals (like Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny) or space aliens or what?
6. Are there any plotlines you remember besides the witch?
7. Are there any shows that were on around the same time?
8. Was this in the United States? What state or region of the country?
9. Was this cartoon something contemporary to the time, or was it a rerun or an import from some other country or time?

It has wizards, and magic and muscle growth.
It debuted 1983-1985, then re ran in the 2000s.
It is a cartoon.

It COULD be what you are remembering. For my generation, a very similar show with a super muscled hero, witchcraft, magic and some muscle growth, was "The Mighty Hercules". It had an awesome themesong, sung by Johnny Nash: http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...les+theme+song

I agree that THE MIGHTY HERCULES had "an awesome themesong". But I was disappointed to learn that Herc's 'ring of strength' did not come from Greek mythology - it was probably a rip-off of Thor's 'belt of strength' from Norse mythology.

Hi, sorry about the confusion. I'm based. In the Uk this was shown on Sky. There was an assortment of different characters.

1.The year was 2004 - 2005. The animation was very old. Perhaps 1980's.
2. Living in the Uk.
3. I believe it was a weekend during the day. It was a one off cartoon movie.
4. I think it was a single film. The plot was fairly straight forward. Witch has jewel, monsters takes jewel and become more power ful. I believe I took place in a fantasy realm similar to that of Heman.
5. I can't remember individual characters. One might have been called Thorn. They were animals and plant life. A few humans.
6. Can't remember individual plots.
7. Fairly Odd Parents, dragonball z re runs.
