Well I may move but one needs $$ to do that first...
And my credit is sort of fucked...
Long story.
Oh well. Besides, wouldn't you guys like to see how big I can get in a security guard outfit?

And musicals are sort of interesting when you get built. It's amazing how having a good body can work for you.

Oh but I am. I post on www.sondheim.com a lot.
There's a great message board there, called Finishing The Chat.
Sondheim lovers will get the joke immediately.
I'm not quite as nuts as I am sometimes.. I do get a little... Vocal with certain issues..
And I'd love to chat about Sondheim sometime.
I've even performed as Hysterium in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum!

Buffling,

The fact that you even KNOW who Jonathon Tunick is impresses the shit out of me lol.

When we went to the huge Sondheim fest in DC a couple years ago (6 revivals in 2 weekends: Sunday, Company, Passion, Sweeney, Merrily, Night Music), a special announcement was made right before Company that "this performance will be conducted by Jonathon Tunick" and amazingly, a HUGE clamour of applause rose up.

I turned to Mitch and said, "this is musical theatre heaven."

I had the great fortune of getting to see Sondheim up close and personal when he came to Toronto for the World Leaders Festival held by Harbourfront a few years back. I didn't get to meet him, but I sat near him!

CG, you sound way too smart to be a security guard, but the uniform bit is intriguing... Good Luck! I know you need the money.

Well I got the job!

Which says something about me.

If I want it badly enough..

That being said, it won't be a lonely job.

There will be at least one other person with me at all times..
So it'll be a new challenge.

The plus side, maybe this will finally give me the money I need to save up and move out!

Went back to the gym today. After a few weeks off. Felt damn good.

It does feel great to work out again, but my gym has lost me as a member for good. They issued a newsletter and it tells the story exactly...

"As of June 1st all of the items that members and staff have long awaited are going to be implemented over the next 6 months."

Excuse me? LONG AWAITED? How about a big fuck you? We've been bitching about the discusting state of the facilities for almost a year now.
If the gym were a restaurant it would have been CLOSED!

"The first phase would include the installation of new marble counter tops and efficient faucets in both the men's and women's changerooms. We also hope that you enjoy the addition of amenities such as shaving cream, hair gel, etc..."

You're trying to buy us off with amenities? Gee thanks... (very sarcastic)

"The second phase would include the addition of new cardio machines to our already existing wide range of cardio machines. These machines have been a high priority for some time but has not yet been shipped due to administrative difficulties. These new machines will arrive near the beginning of August 2005."

Administrative difficulties? WTF?

We've asked for more machines for a year now. No excuse.

I won't be renewing my membership. Morons.

p.s. Did I mention that we've had LOCKS stolen, removed, CHANGED lately?
The lack of security in the locker rooms is friggen irritating.
I could go on, but I won't. I'm too angry at this "newsletter".

You should go on. You'll feel better after venting for a while. As you know, 24 Hours pissed me off, and I switched to LVAC, and am very glad I did. Just look for a new, better, less expensive gym, and dump the old one. Then email the manager as to why, so (s)he knows why you are leaving.

After I write a very special letter.

But I will go.
Next week... I'm not expecting them to have finished with the sinks on time...
Monday should be fine.

Thanks guys... I'm gonna take some time off the gym when I start my new job just so I can figure out the scheduling and decide what gym I want to join.

Now that I have the knowledge of a year behind me, I can safely shop around knowing what I want. I'm tempted to go for one with a pool...
But pricing will be a major factor...
At least the security gig will be full time.

Go for one with several pools, and much lower prices than your last gym! Keep shopping until you don't have to compromise.

BTW, happy belated birthday. Sorry I wasn't online to say that 2 days ago, but life has been very busy in our household too (new job, we're moving to a condo, spending time with the family, etc.)

Also, don't hate computers, hate crappy OSs like Windoze. I never have computer issues, because I don't use Microsoft software. (Of course I do periodically exorcise Rob's PC he uses to play Roller Coaster Tycoon, but that machine is rarely on the Internet...)

I love RollerCoasterTycoon!
I have 1 & 2.
Though I've only played 1...
I'm hoping my laptop can render the games properly.

And it's official. I now have a new job.
Security Guard.
I am officially hired.
I start training Thursday.

Congratulations on the new job!

Roller Coaster Tycoon is a fun game, and version 2 is WAY better that 1. However, the system requiremnets for 3 are way too high for our PC to run it at all. If they ever come out with a Mac or Linux version of RTC, Winblows will be permanently gone from our house! (Please God, please!) That machine will either get SUsE Linux, or a BSD variant (decisions, decisions...)

Might I suggest a few bucks on RAM? You might be surprised how cheap RAM is, and it's literally just a snap to upgrade.

Actually I did add Ram...

We're running Win ME right now on 8 mb.

We need a larger hard drive...
lol..

I also have an update...

I'm starting tommorrow as a Security Guard! Woo Hoo!

That being said, I'm taking a few weeks off figuring out a new gym, and finances and stuff. I'll be walking every day, and will fit in a few excercises with dumbbells I have at home.

Since I won't have to travel for almost two hours anymore to get to work, my prep time is cut in half, so I'll have more of a life...
YaY!

Well my first day went well. No major fuck ups. lol.
I'm gonna get shitloads of cardio walking up and down the 34 floors doing the patrols, and the 2 levels of parking.
The buildings have to be patrolled every shift, or every few hours or so.
Yes, it's a rich building.

G.

And thanks for the offer to help with the computer. I know the problem mainly is it doesn't have enough hard drive space to run everything...

Luckily in a few weeks I'll be able to afford to upgrade the damn thing.

I'm now a Security Guard I survived my three days of training. In order to pass I had to learn both building 1 and building 2's full patrol, the rec center, the outside patrol, and the two levels of parking beneath. d Did I mention that I start at the roof of the 34 floors and make my way to the bottom? d I'm not complaining. I'm gonna get lots of CARDIO doing this job!

And today I had my first muscle sighting in the elevator there. Yes I did watch the guy on his trip.

I'm taking some time off the gym and focusing upon eating better and doing more cardio to try and lean up a little more before I try bulking again.

The new job is going great, and I can't wait till I get my first pay cheque...
So I can join a better gym in my own city!
Pictures will be done, eventually...

Phew! an inch in a month. Gordon, if you wear a uniform on this new job, you may want to plan on having some larger sizes for the future. Although it would be great to hear about you splitting your pants

Are you on your lay-off from training, or is the weight gain due to walking up and down those stairs? That must be a useful plus, well done!!
